Euphoria Photography - Isle of Skye Wedding Photography, in the Highlands and Islands and throughout Scotland

Canon vs. Canon
10 January 2019
Every so often, I like to go pixel-peeping and see how the latest cameras are performing at extreme ISOs.
Because the Euphoria team has to shoot in low-light conditions such as ancient Scottish castles, we need professional cameras which can produce smooth, detailed results with low noise.
I had read about Nick Ghionis, Triple Master Photographer at WPPI, making the switch to Olympus mirrorless equipment for his professional, wedding photography and I was interested to see how their latest camera was holding up compared to the Canon full-frames which we prefer. Nick was having issues with his forearm after carrying a heavy camera and lens for long periods during weddings.
So, I went across to Imaging Resource's comparometer which allows you to compare two images, full size, side-by-side at an extreme settings. I was still satisfied that our cameras are a better choice for our work. Then, I decided to compare Canon vs Canon full-frame cameras and remained entirely satisfied with the models we are using. In fact, I felt a renewed respect for our Canon “gems.”
The comparometer is a wonderful tool for professionals, enthusiasts and anyone wanting to check and compare the abilities of cameras that they are considering.
Meantime, we are confident we have the right tools for the job on the Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands and look forward to working with you!
