FAQ: What Gear Do You Use?
05 January 2019
Perhaps this should be an occasionally asked question.  What photographic gear do you use?  Clients choose our services because of what we do and who we are.  However, for those who would like to know more about our equipment...
It took a journey to decide on the best photographic equipment.  In the past, I was a film photographer and used Minolta and Mamiya cameras.  When digital cameras became more reliable, Roz and I loved Olympus and later Canon.  Now, we are using the latest Canon full frame cameras to give the best resolution and least noise at high ISOs.  This final decision was made after much research and pixel-peeping.  Consideration was also given to the kind of terrain we would be travelling.  The cameras had to be robust but light-weight enough for us to carry and shoot for hours.
Our lenses comprise the Canon 24-70mm F2.8 L-Lenses, Mark II and the Canon 70-200mm F4 L-Lenses.  We love the results from continuous lighting such as a video light and, of course, the Jerry Ghionis Ice Lights, Mark I and II.  We are delighted with these combinations but are always alert to developments and are happy to move onwards in order to deliver the highest resolution images for our clients.
