It's no secret that we love wild and windswept weddings, featuring a couple in love amid dew-soaked hill tops, majestic cliffs, tumbling waves and desolate moorlands.

The Isle of Skye has such a range of scenery from beaches to mountains to moors to lochs to castles - so that adventurous couples can be married in whatever kind of scenery they like best.

If you can't decide where you want your photographs taken, let's go on a photo-adventure together!

Mountains and Moorlands:

Sligachan.

Whether in autumn, or in the blazing heat of spring, these moody, majestic mountains and windswept moorlands combine Skye's most iconic sights with the overwhelming romance of your wedding day.  Located in the middle of Skye, this is an easily accessible location and requires hardly any walking.

The Quiraing.

Located at the north of Skye, the Quiraing's distinctive formation has been immortalised in television and film.  What a place for a wedding ceremony!

Lochs:

Loch Coruisk.

Getting to Loch Coruisk requires a boat trip from Elgol harbour, in the south of Skye.  Once there, you find yourself encased in mountains on the shore of a tranquil loch...  Wow!

Beaches:

Staffin Bay.

Staffin Bay makes for a perfect spot to visit after you have been to the nearby Quiraing!  Located near the northern tip of Skye, the beach is a tranquil beauty spot with endless waves and restful ocean views.

Glenbrittle Beach.

Located in Glenbrittle, also the home of the Fairy Pools, this beach has glorious views of distant mountains, as well as the Cuillins in the background.

Fiscavaig Beach.

Fiscavaig Beach boasts a beautiful view of the MacLeod's Tables, two distinctively-shaped mountains, and is covered in rich, dark sand.

Talisker Bay.

Talisker Beach is a short distance away from the Talisker Distillery.  A walk up a rough track soon takes you to the beach - which makes for an amazing wedding venue!

Coral Beach.

Although not made of sand at all (and not made of coral either!), this "beach" looks beautiful!  Located in Waternish, in between Dunvegan and Portree, this is a beautiful spot for a windswept wedding.

Ruined Castles:

Duntulm Castle.

Perched on the edge of a cliff with breathtaking views all around, Duntulm is one of Skye's most beautiful ruined castles. Located at the very north end of Skye, this is close to Staffin, the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing. Due to the castle's tumbledown state, it is advisable to exercise caution here.

Dunscaith Castle.

Based in south Skye, this is another stunning ruined castle. It has impressive views to the Cuillins.

Castle Moil.

This is the first castle you see as you come onto the island. Another romantic ruin, this castle is easily accessible and would make a wonderful venue for wedding photography!

Majestic Cliffs:

Neist Point.

Located at Skye's most westerly point, this iconic lighthouse and the surrounding cliffs make for a great location to watch the sunset.  Please exercise extreme caution, however, as the cliffs do get very breezy indeed!

Magical Places:

Fairy Glen.

Not to be confused with the Fairy Pools, the Fairy Glen is located just before Uig - where the ferry leaves for the Outer Hebrides.

Located near the Talisker Distillery, the Fairy Pools are in Glenbrittle.  Getting to the topmost pool requires a 20-minute long walk there and back.
